The state of Acre is one of the most remote states in Brazil and is deep into the Amazon Jungle. It borders Peru and has many ethnic groups which have never received the Gospel. Digging wells in Acre is important because we want to see the local missionaries build lasting relationships with their communities. If the missionaries can offer clean water in their communities it will be a simple but impactful gesture of God’s love to people who do not have churches in their villages.

A message from our friends working in Acre:

“We are currently raising support to dig wells in several tribal communities in Acre, Brazil. We have been working with these people for about a year, and it has become apparent that there’s a great need for clean drinking water. These communities are currently getting water from surface level springs along the river bank. But these springs are often some distance from their houses and easily contaminated because of animals and run off when it rains. We would like to do one well in 6 of the communities, and 3 in the community we used to live in. There are two wells in our village that may be able to be renovated and equipped with hand pumps to make them usable.”
